  1. I am so impressed by the blog team in Year 5. Well done Ashleigh, Michael V. and Georgia! I like how you have definations for so many different values.
In response to your question about my favourite value, it is difficult to choose just one. I guess that my favourite would be love. With love, all other values are also possible. Keep up the great work Year 5.

  2. Hello Year 5!
Firstly I wanted to tell you how lovely it is to visit you in your classroom and hear all about the great things you are doing with the amazing Miss Lee. I also like our discussions about the Papal elections. I am writing to let you know that the very clever Luke Dean knows all about the ceiling in the famous Sistine Chapel. He is going to let you know who is the artist. I owe him 3 signatures.
Here is another question for you. How long did it take that famous artist to complete this enormous and beautiful work of art?
I hope that you watched the news tonight because it showed inside the Sistine Chapel, including the boards covering the fragile floors.
Remind me to tell you next week how most tourists view the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel.

    1. Good Morning Mrs Haney,
We have just watched a segment from ABC news about the Papal election. It showed the black smoke pouring out of the chimney. It was obvious that it was black smoke, there was lots of it. There were lots of people watching at the Vatican, including 5 600 reporters. They were standing in the rain and hail. We can't wait to see the white smoke.

      Regards,
      Year 5

  5. Good morning Year 5. So we now have a new Pope. Pope Francis the first. What country is he from and what can you tell me about St. Francis of Assissi?
This is a wonderful day for us to witness history in the making.

  6. Dear Mrs.Haney Pope Francis is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. What I know about St.Francis of Assisi is that he came from a wealthy family, but he chose to help the poor and spend time with the people less fortunate. On July 16, 1228 St Francis was claimed a saint by Pope Gregory IX. Saint Francis is also known as his love for the Eucharist, his sorrows during The Stations Of The Cross and for the creation of the Christmas Creche or Nativity Scene.

  7. Hi Gabby
Thank you for the information that you gathered about Pope Francis and St. Francis of Assisi.I did not know that St. Francis of Assisi was responsible for the nativity scene. That is something that I have always loved to look at ever since I was a little girl.
I am also enjoying getting to know the new Pope Francis.
Please see me for 3 signatures.
